I have talked 3 people out of buying. 2 of them came back 6 months later with the money and the readiness, and one of those is still the largest thing I have ever signed. That is not a strategy and I would not teach it as one. It is what happened when I told the truth about timing to somebody who was not ready. I have stopped apologising for it in interviews. If an offer needs me to push people who are not ready, the offer has a bigger problem than my numbers.
